Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr. urged students Friday to carry concealed weapons on campus to counter any possible armed attack, saying that “we could end those Muslims before they walk in.” “Let’s teach them a lesson if they ever show up here,” Falwell told students at the Christian school. Falwell was met with rousing applause from students, but some said he went too far when he appeared to be referring specifically to Muslims, the Lynchburg News & Advance reported. "I've always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in," Falwell said. He told the Associated Press on Saturday he was specifically referring to Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, the couple who shot and killed 14 people during a holiday party in a Southern California office building on Wednesday. Falwell told the News & Advance, “There are many good Muslims, many good moderate Muslims.” He also told the newspaper he believes it was clear that he was talking about the attacks in California and Paris. Falwell also told the AP he believed the campus needed to be prepared in the face of the increasing frequency of mass killings. He cited the 2007 killing of 32 people at Virginia Tech, the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. "What if just one of those students or one of those faculty members had a concealed permit and was carrying a weapon when the shooter walked into Virginia Tech? Countless lives could have been saved," he said. Falwell said the university is only encouraging responsible gun ownership, not just gun owners. He also said he's decided to carry a gun after recent attacks.

U.S. taxpayers spent $150 million building fancy, hotel-like "villas" staffed with private security for government employees working in Afghanistan rather than having them live on U.S. military bases at a fraction of the cost, according to the top government watchdog charged with monitoring wartime waste. The lead oversight team auditing U.S. spending in Afghanistan said Thursday the Pentagon's Task Force for Stability and Business Operations spent 20 percent of its budget on private housing and security guards for a "handful" of employees who could have lived on U.S. military bases for little or no extra charge. "We are concerned that this may be another example of U.S. government officials not looking out for American taxpayers' dollars," John Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction (SIGAR), told FoxNews.com. The Department of Defense employees worked for the now-defunct Task Force for Stability and Business Operations, known as TFBSO or the Task Force -- the DOD's premiere program to kick-start the Afghan economy. The $150 million spent on the villas and private security supported "only a handful" and "no more than 5 to 10" TFBSO staff members the majority of the time, according to Sopko. In a Nov. 25 letter to Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, Sopko requested information on the Task Force's decision to spend nearly a fifth of its budget on the villas and security. From 2010 through 2014, Congress appropriated approximately $822 million to TFBSO for Afghanistan, of which the Task Force spent approximately $766 million. "SIGAR's preliminary review indicates that TFBSO leadership rented specially furnished, privately owned 'villas' and hired contractors to provide 24-hour building security, food services, and bodyguards for TFBSO staff and visitors traveling in the country," Sopko wrote. "If TFBSO employees had instead lived at DOD facilities in Afghanistan, where housing, security, and food service are routinely provided at little or no extra charge to DOD organizations, it appears the taxpayers would have saved tens of millions of dollars."

University president rebukes 'self-absorbed, narcissistic' students

A chapel sermon on love left a student at Oklahoma Wesleyan University feeling “offended” and “victimized.” But instead of capitulating to the offended young scholar, OWU President Everett Piper pushed back with a blistering rebuke of what he called “self-absorbed and narcissistic” students. “This is not a day care. This is a university,” he wrote in a blog that has since gone viral. Back home in Tennessee, we call that a “Come to Jesus” moment. “Our culture has actually taught our kids to be this self-absorbed and narcissistic,” he wrote. “Any time their feelings are hurt, they are victims! Anyone who dares challenge them and, thus, makes them ‘feel bad’ about themselves, is a ‘hater,’ a ‘bigot,’ an ‘oppressor,’ and a ‘victimizer.’” Oh behalf of a grateful nation, I say, thank you, Dr. Piper. It’s refreshing to see a grown man with advanced degrees willing to stand up to a generation of perpetually-offended nincompoops and bullies. Dr. Piper’s brilliant take on the current state of affairs on college campuses came about after a student complained about a chapel sermon on 1 Corinthians 13 – the Bible’s love chapter. The student felt offended because the “homily on love made him feel bad for not showing love,” he explained. “In his mind, the speaker was wrong for making him, and his peers, feel uncomfortable.” Dr. Piper offered some wise advice for the young man. “If you want the chaplain to tell you you’re a victim rather than tell you that you need virtue, this may not be the university you’re looking for,” he wrote. “If you want to complain about a sermon that makes you feel less than loving for not showing love, this might be the wrong place.” Hallelujah! For weeks we’ve watched academically-castrated university presidents capitulate to the outrageous demands of students. But finally – there’s a Christian university willing to stand up and say, “Enough!” “The bottom line is that at the end of the day I would argue that college is not about safe spaces or being a safe place,” Dr. Piper told me in a telephone interview. “OWU is not a safe place.” He said the nation’s universities should be ashamed for educating a culture of “selfish individuals.” “The university needs to recognize that our obligation is to challenge bad thinking and bad ideas and not coddle individuals in their self-absorption and narcissism,” he said. The modern-day collegian is a fragile snowflake – who needs psychological help for such atrocities as reading the works of a white author or attending Taco Night at the campus dining hall. Humorous? You bet! Dangerous? Absolutely. A recent Pew Research poll revealed that 40 percent of millennials support a crackdown on offensive speech. Dr. Piper warned that could set the stage for a problem that transcends college campuses. “Do we want ideological fascism or do we want intellectual freedom and academic freedom,” he asked. “Because really what we have right now is an argument for ideological fascism. You must submit. You must agree. You must be one of us. And if you don’t, we will silence you. We will crush you.” The nation needs more academic leaders like Dr. Piper – a grownup willing to say what needs to be said to coddled collegians. It’s time to put on your big-boy pants, kids.

German officials warn of homegrown Islamists trying to radicalize refugees
German authorities are growing increasingly concerned that newly arrived refugees from Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East are being recruited by radical Islamists once they arrive in the country. The Wall Street Journal, citing interviews with security officials from across Germany, reports that an increasing number of refugees are attending services at mosques that investigators believe attract extremists. The report brings into focus a different dimension to the possible security risk posed by asylum-seekers who have flooded into Western Europe for months. Some of the ISIS terrorists who killed 130 people in Paris earlier this month posed as refugees from Syria's civil war to slip into Europe and meet their co-conspirators. However, security officials tell the Journal that they have already reported more than 100 cases in which known Islamists have tried to contact refugees. Aid agencies report that the suspects have reached out to the new arrivals with offers of food, shelter, and use of German interpreters, as well as copies of the Koran and traditional Muslim clothing. "They start by saying, ‘We will help you live your faith,'" Torsten Voss of Germany's domestic intelligence agency told the Journal. "The Islamist area comes later -- that is, of course, their goal." The Journal reported that German intelligence agencies have seen no evidence that the recruiting has been effective, but believe such methods will present a long-term risk. Germany is expected to take in between 1 million and 1.5 million refugees from the Middle East, Africa and Asia this year, far more than in previous years. Several organizations have warned that even if most or all of the new arrivals have no interest in terrorism, they may pose a threat to public order due to their views on Israel and the West, as well as other ethnic and religious tensions. "You can’t put Afghans, Syrians and Eritreans in the same place because they hate each other," Malte Lehming, editor-in-chief of the opinion page of Der Tagesspiegel newspaper told FoxNews.com in October, later adding, "I’m afraid that anti-Americanism, anti-Israel sentiment, and anti-Semitism will be on the rise. We have very limited educational tools to change that. Syria is one of the most anti-Israel countries, influenced by Iran and helped by Hezbollah." Germany has one of Europe's largest populations, and many people there have roots in relatively secular Turkey. However, Germany security officials say many of the new arrivals are seeking out mosques that have been linked to extremism. The Journal reports that Berlin authorities issued a 16-page warning to aid workers flagging three mosques in the city as having Islamist ties. In other regions of the country, officials say refugees attending some mosques linked to fundamentalism make up half the congregation. Local officials are attempting to fight the tide by asking experts in radicalization which mosques to recommend. The security officials say such preventive techniques are the best they can do, since fundamentalists who approach refugees aren't breaking any laws.

The nation was forced to endure yet more pious prattling from President Obama this week who spent time berating Americans who are worried about Islamic jihadists hell-bent on blowing us all to kingdom come. “When individuals say that we should have a religious test and that only Christians – proven Christians should be admitted – that’s offensive and contrary to American values, the president said – just one day after he called such behavior un-American. What’s offensive and contrary to American values is refusing to properly investigate those wanting to come to our nation – especially those coming from regions that are hotbeds of Islamic extremism. But the president says such prudence only further enflames the Islamic jihadists.
“ISIL seeks to exploit the idea that there is a war between Islam and the West,” he said. “When you starting seeing individuals in positions of responsibility suggesting that Christians are more worthy of protection than Muslims are – in a war torn land – that feeds the ISIL narrative.” It’s counterproductive and it needs to stop, he warned. Those of us who fear that Islamic radicals might be lurking among the refugees have been called every name in the book: bigots, Islamophobes and un-American. But the cold hard reality is that Protestants, Catholics and Jews aren't the ones beheading people. The Lutherans and Nazarenes aren’t gunning down young folks in concert venues. Nevertheless, the president remains steadfast. The Muslims will come. “We don’t have religious tests to our compassion,” he told journalists from high atop his soapbox. But that's not entirely accurate. Last year, the Obama administration led a fierce legal battle to have a German Christian family thrown out of the United States. The Romeikes fled their homeland in search of a nation where they could homeschool their children. A judge initially granted them asylum – believing they were escaping from religious persecution. However, the Obama administration waged a fierce campaign against the Romeike family – demanding they be returned to Germany.
The family lost court battle after court battle – but at the eleventh hour the White House relented and decided begrudgingly to let them stay. And just a few months ago a federal immigration judge ordered a dozen Iraqi Christians deported from a facility in San Diego. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson declined to tell The San Diego Union-Tribune why the Iraqi Christians were being sent back to their native land. So the next time President Obama wants to lecture the nation about religion maybe he could explain why his administration is importing Muslims and deporting Christians.

Many people are drawing comparisons between Friday's terrorist attacks on Paris and America's own experiences on 9/11. The parallels are not lost on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is critical of President Obama's policy.
"The reality is this did not have to happen," Giuliani told Sean on Tuesday's Hannity. "ISIS is filling a vacuum filled by a vacuous foreign policy, ISIS is an Obama creation."
The former mayor went on to lay out his own vision of what needs to happen in order to combat the threat posed by ISIS.
"Here's the simple fact," Giuliani explained, "some American president has to hold a speech at night and say to the American people 'we have to be in the Middle East until the threat against us is over, just the way we were in Germany, just the way we were in Italy, just the way we are now in South Korea.'"
